Personal and Executive Assistant to the President and CEO

Position: Personal and Executive Assistant
Type: Full-Time/Paid
Location: New York City
Responsibilities:
The position will be a personal/executive assistant for the president and CEO of the organization. The ideal candidate should be flexible, energetic, resilient, independent, highly intelligent, very detail-oriented, assertive and capable of assimilating large amounts of information quickly and efficiently. Candidate must also have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. As importantly, he or she should be enthusiastic about the mission and goals of the organization. Tasks include general organization and filing, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, managing bank accounts, paying bills, taking dictations, drafting original documents and editing others, conducting internet research, ordering office supplies, and various other errands. A sense of humor is a must.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of Spanish (reading and speaking)
• Experience with computer applications is beneficial but not required
• Strong research and communication skills
• Independent, organized, dynamic, adaptable, creative, energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure

Responsibilities:
This position is a fall semester internship assisting HRF’s chief operating officer, program director, and director of institutional affairs with:
• Program design and implementation
• Research and reporting
• Web and media development
• Clerical and administrative tasks
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated college student passionate about defending freedom in the Americas and possessing excellent research and communication abilities. This is an ideal position for someone who would like to learn all facets of the nonprofit world while promoting human rights. Sound judgment, focus, organization, empathy, an ability to work under pressure, and a sense of humor are imperative.

• Spanish fluency is beneficial but not required
